Bacon Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

- 5 bacon strips, chopped
- 1 pkg (16 oz) frozen Brussels sprouts, thawed
- 1/2 cup onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated
Directions:
- Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 1 tbsp drippings.
- Sauté Brussels sprouts in reserved drippings in the same skillet until lightly browned.
- Add water and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 3-4 minutes or until Brussels sprouts are heated through.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in bacon and sprinkle with cheese.
To use fresh sprouts, cut an X in the core of each one. Place in a large saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook 6-8 minutes or until almost tender. Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 1 tbsp drippings. Sauté onion in drippings until crisp-tender. Drain sprouts; add to skillet. Sprinkle with pepper. Cook and stir 2-4 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat. Stir in bacon and sprinkle with cheese.
