Ingredients:

Yield: 6 servings

    • 1 lb ground turkey
    • 1 tsp olive oil
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 2 garlic cloves, minced
    • 2 cups water
    • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
    • 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
    • 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1/4 tsp black pepper
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 2 cups elbow macaroni or small shells

Directions:

    1. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
    2. Saute turkey, onion, and garlic until turkey is cooked through and onion is soft.
    3. Add water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, soy sauce, bay leaf, black pepper, and salt.
    4. Bring to a boil.
    5. Lower heat, cover, and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
    6. Add pasta, stir well, cover, and let cook for 20 minutes or until pasta is al dente.
    7. Remove bay leaf before serving.
