Oven Roasted Beef Brisket

Ingredients:
Yield: 8 servings

- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp onion powder
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp pepper
- 2 tsp ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 fresh beef brisket (4 lbs), halved
- 1 Tbsp canola oil
- 1 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 bay leaf
Directions:
- Combine first seven ingredients; rub over brisket.
- Brown meat in oil in batches in an ovenproof Dutch oven.
- Add broth and bay leaf; bring to a boil.
- Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 3 1/4 - 3 3/4 hours or until meat is tender. Remove brisket to a serving platter.
- Skim fat from cooking juices; discard bay leaf.
- Thinly slice meat across the grain. Serving with cooking juices.
